Time spent on a smoking break is not included in the employee’s working time. Additionally, this excluded time is rounded according to the rounding value set for the work shift.
In practice, this means that if the rounding value is set to 15 minutes and the employee spends only 5 minutes on a break, a full 15 minutes will be excluded from their working time. If the break lasts, for example, 20 minutes, a total of 30 minutes (two times 15 minutes) will be excluded from the working time.
Individual smoking breaks are accumulated over the course of the entire working day. For example, if an employee takes two 5-minute smoking breaks during the day, and the rounding value set for the work shift is 15 minutes, a total of 15 minutes will be excluded from their working time.
Working shifts
Smoking breaks must be enabled for a specific work shift. To enable them, go to the shift settings (Administration – Work Shifts) and set the ‘Smoke pauses‘ option to Yes.
If smoking breaks are not enabled for the work shift and the user records a ‘smoke pauses’ entry in their attendance, an attendance error ‘Unauthorized Break‘ is generated

Access types
Creating and editing access types is done in Administration – Access Types. Smoking breaks can be identified by the access type function: Smoke pause.

It is possible to edit the name of the access type and set a different name for the reader button. Additionally, you can freely choose the icon and color for the access type.
Access entry
The access type with the ‘smoke pause’ function must always be selected on the reader. Detection does not occur automatically. When returning from a smoking break, it is recommended to select the ‘Příchod’ access type (function: Entry) on the reader.
